Company Description Cellumantra Biorefinery Pvt. Ltd. is a DPIIT-recognized green biotechnology startup developing an enzymatic biorefinery platform that converts non-wood agricultural waste into industrial enzymes and advanced biomaterials. The company focuses initially on revenue-generating enzyme production for sectors such as textiles and wastewater treatment, followed by high-margin cellulose nanofibers (CNF) for sustainable materials.

Its technology is optimized for Indian biomass, enabling cost-efficient, scalable, and circular manufacturing solutions. By transforming agricultural residues, Cellumantra helps reduce farm-waste burning and import dependency while supporting a more sustainable industrial ecosystem. The company is positioning itself at the intersection of biotechnology, climate action, and materials innovation.

Role Description This is a full-time remote role for Investors, Mentors, AS Co-founders with Investments at Cellumantra Biorefinery Pvt. Ltd. Individuals in this role will support strategic decision-making, capital allocation, and long-term growth planning for the biorefinery platform and product roadmap.

Day-to-day responsibilities may include evaluating business models and market opportunities, advising on fundraising strategy and investor relations, and guiding partnerships with industrial clients in textiles, wastewater treatment, and sustainable materials. Co-founders and mentors will collaborate with the founding team on governance, organizational development, and risk management, while supporting key milestones in R&D;, commercialization, and scaling operations.



The role involves regular remote meetings, reviewing financial and technical updates, and providing hands-on guidance to help build a robust, impact-focused business.

Qualifications

- Experience in startup investing, venture capital, angel investing, or strategic corporate investments, with an understanding of early-stage equity structures and risk management.
- Background in mentoring or advising founders, including support with strategy, governance, operations, and leadership development.
- Domain knowledge in biotechnology, green chemistry, sustainable materials, circular economy, or related industrial sectors is highly beneficial.
- Ability to analyze markets, business models, and unit economics, and to contribute to fundraising, business development, and go-to-market strategies.
- Robust communication, collaboration, and remote-working skills, with the ability to engage constructively with technical and non-technical team members.
- Willingness to commit capital as an investor or co-founder, aligned with the company’s climate and sustainability mission.
- Prior experience with Indian or emerging-market startups, regulatory environments, and industrial partners is a plus.
