Role DescriptionThe GDS, Ticketing, Booking & Customer Support Intern is an internship position based in Mumbai with a hybrid work arrangement and work-from-home flexibility.
The intern will assist with flight and travel bookings using Global Distribution Systems (GDS) and other approved travel booking platforms. The role includes supporting ticket issuance, reissuance, cancellations and day-to-day reservation activities across flights, hotels and buses.
The intern will also respond to customer enquiries through phone, WhatsApp, email and chat, provide accurate information on fares, schedules, baggage and travel policies, and assist customers throughout the booking process.
Responsibilities will also include booking confirmation, payment follow-up, billing documentation and post-sale amendments, including coordination for permitted changes, cancellations, reissues and refunds.
The intern will maintain accurate booking and customer records, coordinate with airlines, suppliers and internal teams, and ensure timely follow-up on customer requirements.
This position provides hands-on exposure to GDS operations, travel ticketing, reservations, customer support and end-to-end travel operations within a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesGDS &
• Ticketing
- Search flight availability and fares using GDS and approved travel booking platforms.
- Prepare suitable flight options based on customer requirements.
- Create and manage PNRs under supervision.
- Check fare rules, baggage allowance, schedules and itinerary details.
- Assist with ticket issuance and related documentation.
- Prepare and share accurate itineraries with customers.
Booking & • Billing
- Process and coordinate customer bookings for flights, hotels and buses.
- Verify passenger and travel details before confirmation.
- Share booking confirmations and payment details with customers.
- Follow up with customers for payment against booked itineraries.
- Coordinate with the accounts/operations team regarding payment confirmation.
- Assist with invoice generation and billing documentation.
- Maintain accurate booking, payment and invoice records.
- Update booking status and customer records regularly.
Post-Sale Service & • Amendments
- Assist customers with post-booking requirements.
- Coordinate permitted changes to travel dates, timings and itineraries.
- Assist with reissue, cancellation and refund requests.
- Check applicable airline, hotel, bus operator or supplier rules and charges.
- Coordinate amendments with airlines, suppliers and internal teams.
- Communicate applicable charges and amendment status to customers.
- Follow up until the requested service or amendment is completed.
- Update booking and customer records after every amendment.
Customer Support
- Respond to customer enquiries through WhatsApp, phone, email and chat.
- Understand customer requirements and provide appropriate information.
- Share quotations, itineraries, booking details and travel information.
- Assist customers before and after booking.
- Handle routine booking-related queries professionally.
- Coordinate customer requests with the relevant internal team.
- Escalate complex operational or customer issues to senior team members.
- Maintain professional and courteous communication.
Records & • Documentation
- Maintain accurate customer and booking records.
- Update PNR, ticket, itinerary, payment and invoice information.
- Record amendments, cancellations, refunds and pending actions.
- Maintain customer follow-up records.
- Keep booking status updated.
- Assist with basic daily/weekly operational reports.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge, training or practical exposure to GDS / airline reservation systems.
- Familiarity with Amadeus, Galileo/Travelport, Sabre or another GDS will be an advantage.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer-service orientation and a customer-first approach.
- Basic knowledge or willingness to learn travel reservations, including bookings, modifications, cancellations and post-sale servicing.
- Basic understanding of PNRs, fares, baggage and travel itineraries is an advantage.
- Ability to handle customer enquiries and follow up on quotations, bookings and pending payments.
- Basic computer literacy, including email, spreadsheets and CRM/booking tools.
- Good attention to detail, time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with customers, airlines, suppliers and internal teams.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Students or candidates who have recently completed studies in Travel & Tourism, Aviation, Hospitality, Business or a related field are preferred.
- Freshers with relevant GDS training are encouraged to apply.
- Willingness to learn travel technology, systems and company processes.
- Willingness to work during weekends or holidays when required, based on business requirements and company policy.

Stipend & Incentives₹8,000 – ₹12,000 per month The stipend will depend on the candidate's GDS knowledge, practical experience, communication skills and overall suitability for the role.
Additional performance-based incentives may be applicable for eligible sales, booking conversions or other measurable business contributions, subject to the company's applicable incentive structure.
