About the Role

Forward Deployed Engineers own the whole system for a customer: system design, software, data, infrastructure and delivery. This is a senior technical leadership role — you are the technical owner of multiple customer systems at a time, lead pods of junior engineers, and stay hands-on with code, infrastructure and the customer's war room from architecture whiteboard through go-live and beyond.

This is a generalist role by design: in one week you might design a current system, lay out network topology, write a data pipeline, fix a frontend bug, size a Kubernetes cluster, and coach a junior engineer. You'll also help shape the product itself — contributing to roadmap discussions and prototyping new capabilities based on what you see in the field.

What You Will Do

1. Take customers from signed contract to production go-live: requirements, system design, architecture, build, cutover, hypercare and handover.
2. Design non-trivial systems from scratch — service boundaries, data models, APIs, storage/messaging choices, and failure handling — and defend those decisions to senior engineers and customer architects.
3. Design practical cloud and network architectures across AWS, Azure, GCP and on-premise, working within customer constraints like private networks, firewalls and existing identity providers.
4. Write and review production code across the stack — backend services, web application, integration adapters and deployment automation — and ship product improvements that go back into the core platform.
5. Build the data engineering layer of each deployment:



ingestion, transformation, scheduling, data quality and reload strategies.
6. Run Kubernetes in production (networking, ingress, secrets, scaling, upgrades) and troubleshoot across app, network and infrastructure layers.
7. Set up observability, alerting and runbooks so customers can operate the platform independently.
8. Lead multiple pods of 3-4 junior engineers as a formal people manager — planning work, reviewing code/design, unblocking, and growing them toward owning deployments themselves.
9. Be the technical point of contact for your customers — running status calls, escalations and post-incident reviews.

What We're Looking For

1. 6+ years of engineering experience, including at least two systems you personally took from design to production and kept running.
2. Proven system design and architecture experience — you've designed non-trivial systems from scratch and can defend those decisions to senior engineers and customer architects.
3. Full-stack software fundamentals — you can build and debug a web application (backend, database, frontend); language doesn't matter, judgment does.
4. Production experience on both AWS and Azure, with Docker and Kubernetes in production, and comfort with VPC/VNet design, subnets, routing, firewalls, VPNs, DNS, load balancers and Linux.
5. Data engineering experience — pipelines that move data reliably, batch and incremental loads, schema changes, idempotency, backfills and scheduling.
6. Track record of producing infrastructure estimates, BOMs and deployment plans that customers signed off on, and delivering against them.
7. Experience leading multiple small teams of 3-4 engineers concurrently while staying hands-on, with people you can point to having grown.
8. Ability to learn unfamiliar systems fast, under delivery pressure, and communicate clearly with customer engineers, security teams and executives.
9. Willingness to travel to customer sites within India and support occasional on-call/after-hours needs during go-lives or incidents.
10. Ability to clear a background verification check.
