About OrizinOrizin is an early-stage clean-label functional food company built around one simple belief:
Truth on the label.
We are building food products that are nutritionally meaningful, simple in their ingredients and honest in their communication.
We are currently developing our first product and are looking for a Food Technologist / Food Scientist Intern who wants to be part of that journey from the very beginning.
About the roleThis is a hands-on product development internship.
You will work closely with the founders and our food industry mentor, who brings 15+ years of experience, to take a product from an early idea towards a commercially viable formulation.
You won't just be reading about food product development.
You will be experimenting, formulating, testing and learning through actual product development.
What you will work on
- Develop and test food product formulations
- Research ingredients and their functional properties
- Conduct formulation trials and maintain detailed records
- Evaluate taste, texture, solubility, mouthfeel and overall product experience
- Work on ingredient combinations and ratios
- Help identify suitable raw materials and suppliers
- Assist with basic stability and shelf-life studies
- Support nutritional and technical evaluation of formulations
- Understand food safety, quality and regulatory requirements
- Document experiments, results and learnings
- Improve formulations based on testing and feedback
- Help move the product from prototype towards a production-ready formulation
Who we're looking forYou could be a positive fit if you:
- Are pursuing or have completed a degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Dairy Technology, Nutrition, Biotechnology or a related field
- Have a genuine interest in food product development
- Enjoy experimenting and solving formulation problems
- Understand basic food ingredients and their functionality
- Are detail-oriented and comfortable maintaining experiment records
- Are curious and willing to learn
- Can work hands-on and independently
- Are comfortable with trial and error
- Want to understand how a food product goes from an idea to something people can actually buy
Freshers are welcome to apply. We care more about your curiosity, fundamentals and willingness to learn than years of experience.
What you'll learnYou will get exposure to the complete product development process:
Concept → Ingredient Research → Formulation → Trials → Sensory Testing → Refinement → Validation → Commercialisation
You will also work closely with an experienced food industry mentor with 15+ years of experience and get a practical understanding of how food products are developed beyond the classroom.

Stipend: Open for discussion based on the candidate's profile and experience
We are also open to the possibility of offering a full-time opportunity after the internship based on performance, mutual fit and the company's requirements.
