We are looking for an experienced FMCG Purchase Incharge to manage end-to-end purchasing activities, vendor relationships, stock availability, commercial negotiations, and procurement planning. The role requires robust knowledge of FMCG/grocery categories, vendor management, pricing, schemes, and inventory control.

Role & responsibilities

- Manage daily FMCG procurement and purchase planning.
- Source products from manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers.
- Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Negotiate prices, margins, schemes, discounts, credit terms, and promotional offers.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment to avoid stock-outs.
- Track fast-moving, slow-moving, non-moving, near-expiry, and damaged products.
- Compare vendor quotations and market prices to ensure competitive buying.
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up for timely deliveries.
- Coordinate with stores, warehouse, accounts, sales,



and management teams.
- Monitor vendor performance regarding price, quality, service, and delivery.
- Analyse purchase and sales data to support better buying decisions.
- Maintain purchase MIS, vendor reports, price lists, and procurement records.
- Identify new vendors, brands, and products based on market trends and customer demand.
- Drive cost-saving and margin-improvement initiatives.

Preferred Experience 5-10 years of experience in FMCG purchase/procurement, preferably from modern retail, supermarket, hypermarket, grocery, or FMCG distribution. Managerial/vendor-handling experience would be preferred. Current FMCG procurement roles commonly emphasize vendor negotiation, inventory optimization, schemes, and purchase/sales analysis.
