We invite applications for faculty positions in Sociology of Education for our Master’s in Education Programme.

Azim Premji University, Bhopal, started operations in August 2023, offering postgraduate and undergraduate programmes. The first phase of campus construction is complete and the overall 50-acre campus with state-of-the-art academic and residential facilities will be ready over the next few years. We expect to grow to about 4000 students and 500 members over the next few years.

In addition to teaching in our programmes, we offer faculty an enriching and fulfilling institution building experience encompassing interdisciplinary programme design, setting up and implementation of key institutional processes, culture building, and participation in various institutional bodies. The University encourages and offers support to faculty members for pursuing their own research.





We are particularly interested in candidates in the area of Sociology with field-based research experience preferably in school education issues and concerns.

Requirements

- Advanced degree in Sociology or Anthropology is preferred.
- Teaching experience at graduate or postgraduate levels is desirable.
- Ability for strong empirical research.
- Willingness to engage with a very diverse and large student body.
- Orientation towards team-oriented work.
- Ability to reflect and think critically.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
