Company Description AV ENTERPRISES is a metal fabrication service provider specializing in kg-based fabrication projects and welding operations, located in Chennai. The company handles structural equipment fabrication, pre-engineered building (PEB) products, pallets, equipment components assembly, and automotive component mass-production welding. It also works on pressure vessels, tanks, piping, and renovation or rework of metal fabrication, including stamping and press machine production jobs.

In addition, AV ENTERPRISES manages electrical and automation projects such as SPM machine manufacturing and maintenance, PLC programming, panel board wiring, conveyors, LED display installations, and electrical cable and panel erection, commissioning, and termination work.

Role Description The Fabrication Fitter role is a full time, on-site position based in Chennai.

The Fabrication

Fitter will interpret engineering drawings and fabrication sketches to mark, cut, bend, and assemble metal components. Daily tasks include fitting and aligning structural parts, supporting welding operations, performing grinding and finishing work, and assisting in the assembly of equipment, pallets, pressure vessels, tanks, and piping. The role involves using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery safely, inspecting completed work for accuracy and quality, and coordinating with welders, supervisors, and electrical/automation teams as required.





The Fabrication

Fitter is expected to follow safety standards, maintain a clean work area, and support continuous improvement in fabrication processes.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in metal fabrication fitting, including reading and interpreting engineering drawings and fabrication sketches.
- Experience with structural fabrication, PEB components, tanks, pressure vessels, and piping assembly.
- Hands-on skills in using cutting, grinding, drilling, and measuring tools, as well as basic welding support activities.
- Ability to inspect finished components for dimensional accuracy, alignment, and overall quality.
- Knowledge of safe work practices in fabrication shops, including PPE usage and machine safety procedures.
- Basic understanding of related electrical and automation work (e.g., conveyors, equipment assemblies) is an advantage.
- Previous experience as a Fabrication Fitter or in a similar role in metal fabrication or manufacturing.
- Relevant technical qualification or vocational training in fabrication, welding, or mechanical trades preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with welders, machinists, and supervisors, and follow instructions and production schedules.
- Physical ability to perform manual work, including lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in industrial environments.
