Job Purpose:

Provide EHS leadership by ensuring compliance with applicable environment and occupational safety regulatory requirement

Accountability:

- % reduction in accidents
- Safety audit (internal and external) score
- Mock Drills (Target)
- EHS policies in place
- EHS cost budgeted vs actual
- Adherence to EHS policies

Role & responsibilities :

- Define and ensure complete compliance to all Statutory and regulatory requirements related to Environment, health and safety
- Work closely with Head Operations to ensure continual improvement and compliance in EHS activities
- Maintain and develop the necessary EHS standards to ensure the environment, health and safety of site personnel, visitors and contractors
- Perform site audits, identify gaps and implement corrective actions conduct incident /accident /near miss investigations and develop corrective and preventive action plans
- Coach personnel through the development of critical documentation and tools to support risk assessments,



safe work practice and adverse event/near miss reporting and investigation.
- Review and assist in the development of new facilities and processes to ensure optimum EHS activities
- Ensure the right level of operation effluent treatment plant to ensure compliance and work towards continuous improvements in effluent management system
- Review employee safety programs to assess their adequacy and provide adequate training to improve employee awareness
- Liaison with external agencies like the fire department, mutual aid societies and rescue teams to facilitate emergency response
- Evaluate adequacy of actions taken to correct violations & prevent near-misses to happen in the future

Education:

- M.Sc. Environment Science

Experience:

- 4-8 years of experience

Skills & Competencies:

- Communication Skills •Knowledge of regulations around EHS •Technical knowledge of the manufacturing process •Technical knowledge of the manufacturing process •Valuable planning and execution skills
