Published: about 12 hours ago A rapidly growing international energy research and market intelligence organization is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and scale its software development team in Gurugram. The role will focus on people leadership, team building, hiring, engineering excellence and delivery, while also requiring hands-on involvement in technical decisions and development.

Responsibilities

- Lead and grow the Gurugram software engineering team and build a positive, inclusive, and high-trust culture.
- Hire, onboard and retain engineering talent while managing the end-to-end hiring process in partnership with HR and engineering leadership.
- Coach, mentor and develop engineers through regular 1:1s, goal setting, feedback, and career development plans.
- Support performance management and create an environment that encourages continuous learning and development.
- Contribute hands-on as a senior engineer by writing and reviewing code and supporting technical decisions.
- Guide architecture, technical design,



and engineering practices across the team.
- Drive high standards around testing, reliability, maintainability, and overall software quality.

Requirements

- Proven experience in engineering people leadership, team management, and developing software engineers.
- Strong experience in coaching, mentoring, conducting 1:1s, providing feedback, and supporting career progression.
- Demonstrated experience in hiring engineers, conducting structured interviews, and assessing technical and behavioral capabilities.
- Robust understanding of engineering team processes, delivery practices, and continuous improvement.
- Experience working in distributed or international engineering environments.
- Hands-on experience with Node.js / TypeScript, ExpressJS, React, SQL/NoSQL, AWS, and microservices or similar technology stacks.
- Robust technical understanding with the ability to contribute to code reviews, architecture, and technical design.
