About the Role :

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager - Java to lead high-performing engineering teams and drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable, reliable, and high-performance technology solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, System Architecture, System Design, Distributed Systems, and engineering leadership, with a proven track record of building scalable enterprise-grade applications and leading technically strong engineering teams.

This role requires a hands-on technology leader who can work closely with product, engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders while driving technical excellence, architecture decisions, and successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and mentor engineering teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Drive the architecture, design, development, and delivery of scalable and highly available systems.
- Provide technical leadership across Java-based applications, distributed systems, microservices, and backend platforms.
- Define and review system architecture, technical designs, and engineering best practices.
- Own key technical decisions related to scalability, reliability, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Conduct and participate in architecture and code reviews, ensuring adherence to engineering standards.
- Identify technical risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization and proactively address them.




- Drive engineering processes around development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
- Build and maintain a strong engineering team through mentoring, performance management, and talent development.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and evaluate their applicability to the organization's technology ecosystem.

Required Skills &

Experience :

- 14 - 18 years of overall experience in software engineering, with significant experience in technical leadership and people management.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Java/J2EE and backend application development.
- Strong understanding of System Design and System Architecture.
- Experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems.
- Strong knowledge of Microservices Architecture, REST APIs, databases, caching, messaging, and asynchronous systems.
- Experience working with high-volume, scalable, and highly available applications.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, engineering best practices, and design patterns.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Solid problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
