Engineering Manager — Contract to Hire

About the role

Lead day-to-day engineering delivery for a team working with AI-augmented or specification-driven engineering. Translate approved specifications into module-level work, manage throughput and quality gates, and maintain the standards and controls that guide generated code through review and integration.

Responsibilities

- Run the engineering pipeline day to day.
- Break approved specifications into module-level work, allocate work across the team, and own throughput and quality gates.
- Own the specification library, generation standards, guardrails, and evaluation harness.
- Ensure every generated artifact receives review from a named senior engineer before integration.
- Ensure provenance and license scans run on every file.
- Report engineering progress and quality metrics to the Project Head.

Required qualifications

- Minimum 12 years of experience,



including at least 3 years leading teams delivering through AI-augmented or specification-driven engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.
- Engineering management and specification-driven development experience.
- Experience with agentic and AI-assisted development tools and their governance.
- Java, Spring Boot, and ReactJS knowledge sufficient to review engineering depth.
- Experience with CI/CD, quality gating, code review at scale, metrics, and measurement.

Preferred qualifications

- Evaluation and benchmarking of generated code.
- Secure software supply chain and provenance tooling.
- Experience in regulated or audited delivery environments.
