Role Description The Electrical Maintenance Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. This role is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure high availability and safe operation within the plant. Daily activities include conducting preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnosing electrical faults, coordinating repairs, and supporting production teams with technical expertise.
The engineer will maintain documentation for maintenance activities, adhere to safety and compliance standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
Participation in continuous improvement initiatives and support for new equipment installations and commissioning are also part of the role.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess robust skills in Electrical Maintenance and Maintenance Engineering to ensure reliable and safe operation of plant equipment.
- Candidates should have a solid foundation in Electrical Engineering and Electricity, including understanding of circuits, power distribution, and industrial control systems.
- Candidates should demonstrate experience with Preventive Maintenance practices to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Experience in automotive or manufacturing environments, with exposure to industrial machinery and automation systems, is beneficial.
- Knowledge of safety standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices for working with high- and low-voltage installations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation, and use diagnostic tools and test equipment effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
- Willingness to work in shifts if required and respond to maintenance emergencies on-site.
