Role Description The Electrical Designer & Engineer will be responsible for designing and reviewing electrical systems and layouts for offshore and onshore pipeline projects, including power distribution and control systems. Day-to-day activities include preparing electrical drawings and documentation, performing load calculations, selecting equipment, and ensuring designs meet industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams, participation in project meetings, and support during construction, testing, and commissioning phases.

The Electrical

Designer & Engineer will also assist in troubleshooting electrical issues and optimizing system performance in ongoing projects. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru South.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Electrical Design and Electrical Engineering, with experience in industrial or energy sector projects.
- Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Electricity and Power Systems, including system analysis, protection, and reliability.
- Candidates should possess expertise in Power Distribution for medium and low voltage networks, including switchgear and control panels.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree (e.g., Electrical Engineering or equivalent); advanced qualifications or certifications in power or energy systems are an advantage.




- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar) and familiarity with international and Indian electrical standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to safety, quality, and compliance.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively with project stakeholders.
- Experience in oil and gas, pipeline projects, or heavy industrial environments is highly beneficial.

- Develop electrical layouts using AutoCAD, MicroStation, SmartPlant Electrical, AVEVA Electrical or equivalent tools.
- Prepare and maintain 3D electrical models for equipment, cable trays and electrical installations where applicable.
- Develop cable tray routing considering accessibility, maintainability, segregation and constructability.
- Coordinate electrical equipment locations and layouts with Process, Piping, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Civil/Structural and HVAC disciplines.
- Review 3D models and identify design clashes and interface issues.
- Participate in 30%, 60%, 90% and IFC design reviews.
- Incorporate engineering comments and update drawings/models accordingly.
- Prepare material take-offs (MTO) for electrical design items where required.
- Develop electrical installation details for construction.




- Support preparation of cable schedules, equipment schedules and design registers.
- Ensure drawings comply with project drafting standards, client specifications and applicable electrical codes.
- Review vendor drawings and incorporate approved vendor information into project drawings.
- Support site teams with drawing clarifications, RFIs and design modifications.
- Assist Electrical Engineers with design development and constructability reviews.
- Mentor junior designers and coordinate design activities within the team.
- Maintain drawing quality, revision control and document management requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- 8+ years of relevant Oil & Gas electrical design experience.
- Robust experience in detailed engineering and EPC/EPCM projects.
- Experience in Refinery, Petrochemical, LNG, Offshore/Onshore, FPSO, Pipeline or Process Plant projects.
- Good understanding of electrical installation practices and construction requirements.
- Ability to independently develop electrical design packages from engineering inputs.
- Good communication and interdisciplinary coordination skills.
