Electrical Design Leadership

- Provide technical leadership for Electrical Design across multiple projects.
- Review and validate engineering solutions, calculations, drawings and technical documentation.
- Guide Electrical Design Engineers and Senior Design Engineers on complex technical issues.
- Review design concepts and ensure solutions are practical, coordinated and buildable.
- Establish design methodologies, engineering standards and best practices.
- Provide technical direction during design development and construction stages.
- Resolve complex electrical design and coordination issues.
- Ensure electrical design aligns with project requirements, client expectations and construction constraints.

Design Review & Technical Governance




- Conduct detailed technical reviews of electrical design deliverables.
- Review calculations, drawings, specifications, equipment selections and technical submissions.
- Identify technical risks, gaps and constructability concerns.
- Challenge proposed solutions and guide teams towards technically sound alternatives.
- Review design coordination with HVAC, Fire Protection, Plumbing/PHE, ELV, Architecture and Interiors.
- Ensure designs are coordinated and suitable for site execution.
- Support resolution of technical RFIs and design-related site issues.

Design & Cost Optimisation
- Develop project-specific value-engineering strategies.
- Evaluate multiple engineering and equipment options to optimise project cost and performance.
- Review equipment selections and system configurations for cost and energy efficiency.
- Identify opportunities for standardisation and modularisation.
- Evaluate CAPEX, OPEX, lifecycle cost and maintainability while recommending solutions.
- Work closely with QS, Procurement, Construction and Project Management teams on optimisation.
- Ensure cost optimisation does not compromise safety, performance, quality or client requirements.

Design Excellence & Innovation




- Develop and drive the Electrical Design philosophy across projects.
- Establish discipline-level design standards, templates and engineering guidelines.
- Promote standardisation and modular design solutions.
- Identify and implement innovative electrical technologies and systems.
- Drive energy-productive and sustainable electrical design solutions.
- Promote smart-building and technology-enabled electrical systems.
- Benchmark design practices against industry standards and emerging technologies.
- Create a culture of continuous improvement within the Electrical Design team.

Quality & Compliance
- Own Electrical Design quality and technical governance.
- Ensure design deliverables meet project and organisational quality standards.
- Work closely with the QC Lead Electrical to identify and close quality issues.
- Establish design-review checkpoints and quality-control mechanisms.
- Conduct technical workshops and design-quality review sessions.
- Develop training programs and knowledge-sharing sessions for the design team in collaboration with QC.
- Ensure compliance with applicable NBC, IS, IEC, CEA requirements and client/project-specific standards.
- Monitor recurring design issues and implement preventive actions.
- Reduce design errors, clashes, rework and site-level technical issues.

Client & Stakeholder Management
- Participate in key client and consultant technical discussions.
- Understand client requirements and establish clear technical expectations with the design team.
