About the role:

Smart Joules is an industry leader in energy eciency and sustainability, providing innovative HVAC solutions to optimize energy use. As we expand our projects across India and internationally, we are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Project Director to lead our HVAC projects team.

The Project

Director will lead the execution of multiple large-scale HVAC projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality control, and cost-eectiveness. Reporting to the COO, the Project Director at Smart Joules will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of project management, from initial planning and design to execution and handover.

Key Responsibilities of the role will include:

- Project Management:

Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of all HVAC projects, ensuring they meet time, cost, and quality benchmarks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and nance, to ensure smooth project execution.

Dene project objectives, scope, and deliverables, aligning them with customer needs and internal strategic goals. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards.

- Stakeholder Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, other function heads and partners. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.

Coordinate with senior management to communicate project progress, risks, and opportunities.

Manage relationships with contractors, suppliers, and other external partners to ensure project success.

- Leadership and team development:

Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team to achieve excellence in all areas of project execution. Build, manage,



and mentor a team of project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure optimal performance

Develop a second line of leadership within the project teams to support succession planning and business growth.

- Quality Assurance & Risk Management:

Implement effective quality control and risk management processes to ensure project success and minimize potential delays or cost overruns. Anticipate project risks, resolve project issues, and ensure adherence to schedules.

Conduct regular reviews and audits of ongoing projects to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.

- Financial Oversight:

Collaborate with the finance team to manage project budgets, forecast needs, and ensure Financial targets are met Oversee project budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources without compromising on quality. Drive financial performance of projects, including forecasting, invoicing, and ensuring profitability.

Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with the projects.

The Ideal candidate will have a proven track record with strong background in project execution Specic requirements include:

- 15+ years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing large-scale HVAC projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong technical expertise in HVAC systems, energy efficiency,



and sustainable design.
- Proven track record in managing projects with budgets exceeding INR 50 crore.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and working with subcontractors.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Experience Range: 15 - 20 years
