1. Implements and maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
2. Oversees the preparation of delivery system, dialysate bath and dialyzers and confirms that all mandatory alarm tests are performed.
3. Conduct pre –dialysis patient assessment including vital signs and pre dialysis weight , assessing the patient’s vascular access, laboratory findings, and the patient’s general health.
4. Reviews physician’s order for dialysis patients, collect pre treatment dialysis data and reviews patient’s record prior to dialysis.
5. Verifies that patient’s are taking all prescribed medications and performs medication reconciliation.
6. Maintains skills necessary to perform surveillance on dialysis access for early signs of failure or infections.
7. Conduct post dialysis assessment such as vascular access, vital signs and post dialysis fluid balance.
8. Utilizes sterile techniques to assess the dialysis catheter exit site and to apply dressings on the patient’s vascular access as per protocol.
9. Oversees disassembly and disinfection of dialysis equipment.
10. Demonstrates an in depth understanding of infection control and prevention of transmission of blood borne pathogens.
11. Act as an advocate for patients within the department, to ensure a patient oriented approach to the delivery of care.
12. Greets patients and prepares them for examination. To participate in the promotion and maintenance of effective communication.
13. Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes,



consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care process as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
14. Observes, records and reports patients condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians. Maintain clear and legible patient records in accordance with both trust and professional standards for record keeping.
15. Provide immediate care during medical emergencies, discuss the treatment with clinical pharmacist and physician in the critical cases, and provide necessary guidance on health maintenance and disease prevention.
16. Provide comfort to the patients and maintain a safe workplace and identification of potential risk for all patients and visitors; take action as and when required.
17. Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and proper functioning of equipment.
18. Identifies and reports to the Nursing Supervisor, areas of nursing care delivery that requires in service education and initiates action to correct the problem. Immediately reports any unusual occurrences and document appropriately in the incident record.
19. Work as a team leader when allocated to do so. Develop the role according to patients changing needs and research findings, within the resources available.
20. Educate, supervise and guide junior nurses in giving patients care.
21. Attends meetings and participates in committees as required.
22. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
23. Maintains strict confidentiality.
24. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
