About The Role We are currently seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our client's team on a full-time basis. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, catering to professionals who excel in mechanical design and manufacturing processes.

The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and optimize manufacturing designs using FreeCAD, a powerful open-source CAD software. The successful candidate will be instrumental in translating technical specifications into precise 3D models and detailed technical drawings, ensuring the manufacturability and functionality of components. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative industrial components, working closely with cross-functional teams to refine designs and improve production efficiency.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in FreeCAD for 3D modeling and parametric design.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards.
- Familiarity with CAD file formats and data exchange protocols between different systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering,



Industrial Design, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities The Design Engineer will be responsible for a range of tasks to ensure the successful development of manufacturing components:

- Design and model mechanical components using FreeCAD tailored for manufacturing applications.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to validate design feasibility and manufacturability.
- Modify and enhance existing designs based on feedback from production and engineering reviews.
- Create detailed technical drawings and maintain comprehensive documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Conduct design reviews to identify potential manufacturing challenges and develop effective solutions.
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and internal quality guidelines.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in mechanical design and manufacturing technology.
