About The Role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our client's team on a full-time basis. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, making it an ideal opportunity for professionals seeking a dynamic and flexible work environment. The primary responsibility of the Design Engineer is to develop and optimize manufacturing designs utilizing FreeCAD, focusing on precision components essential for industrial manufacturing processes.

The role involves translating complex technical specifications into detailed 3D models and comprehensive technical drawings that facilitate efficient production. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical design, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.

Qualifications





- Proficiency in FreeCAD for 3D modeling, parametric design, and drafting.
- Solid understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately.
- Knowledge of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards to ensure precise manufacturing.
- Familiarity with CAD file formats and data exchange protocols between different CAD systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities The Design Engineer will be responsible for a variety of tasks to support manufacturing excellence, including:

- Designing and modeling mechanical components using FreeCAD tailored for manufacturing applications.
- Collaborating with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure designs are feasible and meet technical standards.
- Modifying and refining existing designs based on feedback from manufacturing and testing processes.
- Creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation, including drawings, BOMs,



and design reports.
- Conducting design reviews to identify potential manufacturing challenges and develop effective solutions.
- Ensuring all designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize design processes and product quality.
