Role Description The Design and Development Engineer for Railway is responsible for designing, developing, and improving railway-related components and systems using advanced mechanical engineering principles. This full-time, on-site role is based in Tarapur and involves creating detailed product designs, preparing engineering drawings, and selecting appropriate materials aligned with railway standards and safety requirements. Day-to-day tasks include conducting feasibility studies, coordinating with production and quality teams, performing design validation and testing, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives for existing products.





The engineer will also participate in research and development projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and maintain technical documentation to ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and customer specifications.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering with practical experience in Machine Design for railway or heavy engineering applications.
- Proficiency in Product Design, including concept development, CAD modeling, and preparation of detailed engineering drawings.
- Hands-on experience with Testing, validation, and performance analysis of mechanical components and systems.
- Experience in Research and Development (R&D;), including prototyping, design optimization, and introduction of new materials or technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Familiarity with railway industry standards, safety regulations, and quality management systems is an advantage.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, perform engineering calculations, and solve complex design challenges.
- Effective communication skills, ability to work collaboratively in on-site teams, and strong attention to detail.
- Experience with CAD/CAE tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, ANSYS) and basic knowledge of manufacturing processes.
