- Role Description The Deputy Manager Mechanical Sourcing role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mysuru. A clear understanding of the semiconductor supply chain, global spread and key players.
- Good understanding and handling of suppliers in a high mix – low volume setting.
- Exposure to a fast-paced environment in terms of cost and time lines across multiple mechanical categories (as indicated below) relevant to semiconductor industries.
- Strong experience in sourcing mechanical components for Electrical Panels Cabinets and Industrial equipment.
- Good understanding of sheet metal fabrication, precision machining, busbar, cable harness, fasteners, speciality labels, lugs, relevant standard parts and BOP’s.
- Good understanding of secondary processes like powder coating, plating, surface treatment.
- Knowledge of supplier base for above and related aesthetic requirements which are mandatory.
- Working knowledge or experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) systems such as SAP.
- Communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.




- Work with customers who are global leaders in Semiconductor industry
- Source mechanical components from qualified suppliers across the globe
- Manage RFQs, cost negotiations, and commercial discussions with suppliers
- Drive localization across all categories and demonstrate cost and lead time improvement
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify alternate parts that reduce lead time and cost
- Support BOM cost reduction, VA/VE initiatives, and localization activities
- Monitor market trends, lead times, shortages, and supply risks
- Coordinate with Quality for supplier audits, approvals, and PPAP/FAI (as applicable)
- Maintain and update component data, lead times, and pricing in ERP/SAP systems

Support production shortages, escalations, and customer-driven sourcing requirements

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Mechanical Engineering skills and a solid understanding of mechanical components and manufacturing processes.
- Candidates should possess Team Management skills, including the ability to lead, mentor, and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders.
- Candidates should possess Project Management skills to plan, execute, and track sourcing projects and supplier onboarding activities.
- Candidates should possess Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) and Plumbing-related knowledge for sourcing relevant materials and services.
- Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, and experience in sourcing or procurement within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Additional beneficial skills include supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, cost analysis, familiarity with ERP or procurement systems, and knowledge of quality and regulatory standards in safety-critical industries.
- Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the capacity to work independently while collaborating within teams are expected.
