Role Description The Cost Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Tezpur, Assam. The role involves tracking and analyzing material costs, preparing cost reports, and supporting pricing decisions for construction materials, metal wire, and pipe fittings. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining cost records, posting journal entries, reconciling inventory and purchase data, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements.

Accountant will collaborate with management to identify cost-saving opportunities, monitor margins, and ensure accurate allocation of expenses.



The role also includes supporting budgeting activities, responding to cost-related queries, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in Cost Accounting and practical experience with cost analysis and reporting.
- Ability to prepare, review, and interpret Financial Statements to support business decision-making.
- Solid Analytical Skills for evaluating material costs, margins, and variance analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Journal Entries (Accounting) and general ledger maintenance.
- Foundational knowledge of Finance principles relevant to budgeting, pricing, and profitability.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and solid organizational skills.
- Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., MS Excel).
- Ability to work on-site in Tezpur and collaborate effectively with operations and management teams.
- Prior experience in wholesale, trading, or construction materials industry is an advantage.
