We are looking for an experienced Travel Consultant After-Hours / Emergency Support to provide high-quality travel assistance and customer service across Business, Leisure, Retail, and Tours divisions.
The role will act as the primary point of contact for clients during non-standard business hours, managing travel-related inquiries, disruptions, emergency situations, and complex travel transactions while ensuring compliance with company policies and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for client interactions during after-hours and emergency situations.
- Provide timely and effective resolution to travel-related queries and issues while maintaining exceptional customer service.
- Handle travel transactions including bookings, ticketing, reissues, exchanges, and cancellations.
- Use Sabre, Amadeus, and internal travel systems to process travel transactions accurately.
- Interpret and apply fare rules, airline policies, ticketing regulations, and applicable travel requirements.
- Manage Irregular Operations (IROPs), including airline schedule changes, cancellations, delays, and other travel disruptions.
- Handle urgent and high-pressure situations professionally while minimizing customer impact.
- Maintain accurate documentation of customer interactions, call summaries, actions taken, and follow-ups.
- Support operational activities including queue management and quotation preparation.
- Coordinate with global Destination Management Companies (DMCs), travel suppliers, airlines, and internal stakeholders to meet client requirements.
- Ensure adherence to established SLAs, productivity targets, quality standards, and company procedures.
- Stay updated on airline policies, travel industry developments, regulations, and internal processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in leisure travel, corporate travel, business travel, or after-hours/emergency travel support.
- Experience working in a travel call center / contact center environment will be preferred.
- Strong experience handling customers in time-sensitive and high-pressure situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent communication skills are mandatory.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience with both Amadeus and Sabre GDS is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of airline ticketing, reissues, exchanges, cancellations, and fare rules.
- Knowledge of fare construction and BSP (Billing and Settlement Plan) processes.
- Experience handling Canadian and United States Point-of-Sale (POS) commissions.
- Strong understanding of airline policies and travel regulations.
Operational Expertise
- Proven experience handling IROPs and airline schedule changes.
- Working knowledge of corporate travel services, including:
- Air bookings
- Hotel bookings
- Car rentals
- Package bookings
- Ability to work according to client-specific travel policies and procedures.
- Experience managing urgent travel requests and emergency situations independently.
