Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Controls Design Engineer role based in Khed.

The Controls Design

Engineer will design and develop control systems for manual and robotic weld lines, including hardware selection, PLC programming, HMI configuration, and integration of sensors and actuators. Daily tasks include preparing control schematics, drafting I/O lists, collaborating with mechanical and project engineering teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards. The role involves supporting installation and commissioning at customer sites, troubleshooting control issues, optimizing cycle times, and documenting control logic and system configurations. The engineer will also participate in design reviews, support continuous improvement initiatives, and provide technical guidance to internal teams and external stakeholders.

Qualifications





- Strong foundation in electrical and control engineering, including control panel design, wiring diagrams, and understanding of industrial sensors, drives, and actuators.
- Experience with PLC and HMI programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi), including development, testing, and debugging of control logic.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet) and integration of robots, weld controllers, and auxiliary equipment.
- Familiarity with automotive weld lines, Spot/MIG welding processes, assembly fixtures, and material handling systems.
- Proficiency in relevant design and documentation tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical or similar, MS Office) for creating schematics, I/O lists, and technical documents.
- Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, conduct root-cause analysis, and provide effective technical solutions under time constraints.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and interact professionally with clients.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, or a related discipline; prior experience in automation or automotive manufacturing is an advantage.
- Awareness of industrial safety standards, best practices for secure control system design, and willingness to work on the shop floor and customer sites as required.
