Mongooz is looking for a Technical Co-Founder & CTO to build Mongooz from the ground up.

This is a deeply hands-on role. You will code, architect, ship, debug and continuously improve the product yourself - not just manage engineers.

You should be able to take a product idea, break it into the right technical approach, and turn it into a reliable production feature. As we grow, you’ll build and lead the engineering team. For now, we need a builder first, manager later.

What you will own:

- Building Mongooz from the ground up
- Writing production code across the core platform
- Designing product and system architecture
- Candidate search, filters, ranking and matching
- Retrieval and recommendation systems
- Large-scale structured and unstructured talent data
- Backend systems, APIs and data pipelines
- AI/LLM workflows, RAG and agentic systems
- Product performance, reliability and scalability
- Engineering standards and technical decision-making
- Hiring and developing the engineering team over time

What we are looking for:

- 6–12 years of strong software engineering experience
- Deep backend and systems engineering fundamentals
- Strong hands-on coding ability
- Experience building products from scratch
- Experience with search, data-intensive or recommendation products
- Strong understanding of databases, indexing,



query systems and APIs
- Experience with Python, Postgres, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch or similar technologies
- Practical experience with LLMs, RAG, embeddings and modern AI systems
- Experience working in a 0→1 or early-stage startup environment
- The ability to move quickly without creating fragile engineering foundations
- Previous experience as a founder, founding engineer or early technical employee would be highly relevant.
