Position Overview

The Steel Warehousing Incharge isresponsible for overseeing the daily operations of the steel warehousingfacility. This role involves supervising a team of warehouse personnel,ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of steel products,maintaining inventory accuracy, and upholding safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1.

Supervision and Leadership:

- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of warehouse shift IC.
- Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring a smoothworkflow and efficient utilization of resources.
- Provide training and guidance to new and existing staff members toenhance their skills and knowledge.

2.

Operations Management:

- Oversee the loading, unloading, stacking, and storage of steelproducts according to established procedures and safety guidelines.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as logistics and production,to ensure timely movement of steel products to and from the warehouse.
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records using appropriatewarehouse management systems.

3.

Quality Control:

- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure the integrityof stored steel products.
- Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse to identify any signs ofdamage, corrosion, or other quality issues.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address and resolvequality-related concerns.

4.

Safety Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies tocreate a safe working environment for all warehouse personnel.
- Conduct safety training sessions and provide guidance on the properuse of personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling of equipment.

Performance Monitoring:





- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouseproductivity, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to optimizewarehouse processes and achieve performance targets.

6.

Communication and Reporting:

- Communicate effectively with other shift supervisors, managers, andcross-functional teams to coordinate operations and address any challenges.
- Prepare shift reports detailing operational activities, issues, andachievements.

7.

Problem Solving:

- Identify and resolve operational issues, such as discrepancies ininventory, equipment malfunctions, and staffing concerns.
- Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to minimizefuture issues.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- High school diploma orequivalent; bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related field is aplus.
- Knowledge in SAP, Excel &Microsoft; Office.
- Proven experience in warehouseoperations, preferably in a steel or heavy industrial environment.
- Solid leadership skills withthe ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Knowledge of warehousemanagement systems and inventory control techniques.
- Familiarity with safetyregulations and best practices in a warehouse setting.
- Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving anddecision-making abilities.
- Flexibility to work differentshifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
