NJob Summary:

NOrion Fashions is lookingfor an Assistant Merchandiser – Leather Garments to support the merchandising team in end-to-end order execution, product development, sampling, sourcing, production follow-up and buyer coordination. The candidate should have practical exposure to leather garments and should be capable of maintaining accurate T&A;, production files, approvals and order status.

NKey Responsibilities:

- Assist the SeniorMerchandiser/Merchandiser in handling buyer orders from development stage to final shipment.
N
- Coordinate with buyers and internal teams for samples, approvals, specifications and order requirements.
N
- Maintain and regularly update T&A; / Time & Action Calendar for all assigned styles.
N
- Follow up on sample development including proto, fit, size set, PP, TOP and other buyer-required samples.
N
- Coordinate with Sampling, Pattern, Cutting, Production, Quality, Store and Shipping departments for timely execution.
N
- Support sourcing of leather, lining, trims, accessories, zippers, buttons and other garment components.
N
- Follow up with leather stores/tanneries and trim suppliers for timely material availability.
N
- Prepare and maintain BOM, order sheets, production files, trim cards and style-wise documentation.
N
- Ensure all required buyer approvals are received before bulk production.
N
- Track leather, trims and production readiness against planned dates.
N
- Assist in costing by collecting prices of leather, trims, processing and other order-related inputs.
N
- Monitor production progress and highlight any delay or risk to the concerned Merchandiser immediately.
N
- Maintain proper recordsof buyer comments, approvals, revisions and sample status.
N




- Coordinate for lab tests, leather tests and other quality/testing requirements as per buyer specifications.
N
- Follow up on ProductionFile handover and ensure all required checklists and approvals are complete before submission to Production.
N
- Coordinate with Qualityfor pre-production requirements and buyer-specific quality standards.
N
- Prepare daily/weekly order status, pending approval and production follow-up reports.
N
- Assist in shipment readiness, packing approvals and coordination with the Shipping department.
N
- Ensure all ERP/MIS/Excel trackers are updated accurately and on time.
N
- Maintain effective communication with vendors, suppliers and internal departments.
N
- Support the merchandising team during buyer visits, sample reviews and production meetings.
N

nRequired Skills & Knowledge:

- Practical knowledge of leather garments, especially jackets, coats and related apparel.
N
- Basic understanding of different leather types, quality, shades, thickness and defects.
N
- Knowledge of garment construction, trims, sampling and production processes.
N
- Understanding of T&A;, BOM, costing, production files and buyer approvals.
N
- Positive follow-up and coordination skills.
N
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook and email communication.
N
- Good written and verbalcommunication skills.
N
- Ability to manage multiple styles/orders simultaneously and meet deadlines.
N

nPreferred Candidate Profile:

NGraduate/Diploma in Fashion, Apparel, Leather Technology, Merchandising or related field with at least 2 years of experience in leather garment merchandising, preferably in an export/manufacturing house.

NTimely T&A; updates, sample submission and approval adherence, accuracy of production files/BOM, timely material follow-up, production milestone achievement, order-status reporting accuracy, reduction in delays, and timely shipment readiness
