Key Responsibilities :

- Assess on-premises database workloads and develop migration strategies for homogeneous and heterogeneous migrations.
- Plan and execute database migrations from on-premises environments to AWS.
- Convert schemas, stored procedures, and SQL between different database engines.
- Design secure and scalable AWS database environments using Amazon RDS, Aurora, and EC2.
- Develop and execute database cutover, rollback, and migration validation plans.
- Automate infrastructure and deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code.
- Monitor and optimize database performance following migration.
- Implement security, encryption, access controls, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and data teams throughout migration projects.

Required Skills :

Database Technologies :

- Strong hands-on experience with one or more of : Oracle SQL Server MySQL PostgreSQL Db2
- Strong SQL development and database performance-tuning skills.

AI / GenAI Skills :

- Experience using Generative AI / LLMs for translating proprietary SQL dialects, such as Oracle PL/SQL to PostgreSQL PL/pgSQL.
- Experience with AI-assisted coding tools for generating, explaining, reviewing, and debugging migration scripts and infrastructure code.
- Exposure to ML-based assessment and discovery tools for workload analysis and target-sizing recommendations.
- Experience with AI-driven performance monitoring, anomaly detection, and post-migration optimization.
- Solid prompt-engineering skills for accurate and context-aware AI assistance.
- Strong validation mindset with the ability to identify hallucinations, logic errors, and inaccuracies in AI-generated code or migration scripts.
- Awareness of downstream AI/ML pipelines, data lakes, and vector databases.

Nice to Have :

- AWS Certified Database Specialty certification.
- AWS Solutions Architect certification.
- Experience in large-scale enterprise database migration projects.
- Experience handling complex heterogeneous database migrations.
- Strong understanding of high-availability, disaster-recovery, and low-downtime migration strategies.
