Role Description The Admissions Counselor is a remote, contract role responsible for guiding NEET-UG aspirants and their families through the admissions and counselling process. Day-to-day activities include conducting structured guidance calls, understanding student goals and preferences, and explaining suitable courses, colleges, and counselling options in explicit, accessible language.

The role involves maintaining accurate student records, following up on inquiries,



and supporting students at each stage of the admissions journey to ensure timely decisions and documentation.

The Admissions

Counselor will collaborate with fellow counselors and the operations team, share insights from student interactions, and contribute to improving resources and guidance tools. This position requires consistent online availability, responsiveness to student queries, and adherence to The MedCompass’ standards of ethical and transparent counselling.

Qualifications

- Strong interpersonal communication and general communication skills to engage effectively with students and families.
- Customer service skills, including empathy, patience, and the ability to handle queries and concerns professionally.
- Sales skills to present programs clearly, address objections, and guide students toward suitable choices without pressure.
- Education-related experience or skills, such as academic advising, mentoring, teaching, or working with learners in a guidance context.
- Familiarity with NEET-UG, medical and healthcare education pathways, and national/state counselling processes is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and handle multiple students and follow-ups.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and comfort working with digital tools (CRM systems, spreadsheets, online communication platforms).
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; backgrounds in healthcare, education, psychology, or counselling are preferred but not required.
