About the Opportunity:

We are supporting our client, a well-established business group with a long-standing presence across professional services, real estate and luxury retail, in hiring a Manager - Accounts & Finance.

The group operates across multiple business verticals, each with distinct financial and operating considerations. This role offers an opportunity to take ownership of the finance and accounting function across these businesses, while working closely with the Directors and management on financial reporting, MIS, profitability analysis, taxation and overall financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Finance & Accounting Business Operations

- Take overall responsibility for accounting and financial control across the Group's key business verticals, including:
- Professional Services / CA Practice

- Real Estate

- Luxury Jewellery Retail
- Ensure books of accounts are maintained accurately and in accordance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements and internal processes.
- Review accounting entries, reconciliations, ledgers, receivables, payables, provisions and other financial controls.
- Establish and maintain appropriate checks and controls to ensure accuracy, completeness and timely closure of accounts.
- Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing processes.

2. MIS & Management Reporting

- Prepare and present timely MIS reports highlighting the financial and operating position of each business.
- Develop business-wise P&L;, cash flow, working capital and other management reports as required.
- Analyse financial performance and identify key trends, variances, risks and areas requiring management attention.
- Provide meaningful insights to management on business profitability, cost structures, margins and financial performance.
- Work with business stakeholders to improve the quality and usefulness of management reporting.

Profitability & Business Advisory

- Analyse the profitability of the different businesses and identify opportunities for improving margins and financial efficiency.
- Support management with financial analysis for business decisions, investments, costs and expansion initiatives.
- Track business performance against budgets / plans and highlight significant deviations.
- Provide commercially relevant financial inputs rather than limiting the role to accounting and compliance.

4. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

- Oversee direct and indirect tax matters across the businesses in coordination with internal / external tax advisors, as applicable.
- Ensure timely and accurate compliance with Income Tax, GST, TDS and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Identify legitimate opportunities for tax efficiency and appropriate tax planning, ensuring that all structures and transactions remain fully compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
- Review tax positions, assess implications of business transactions and advise management on tax-efficient approaches within the permissible legal framework.
- Coordinate with auditors, consultants, tax advisors and statutory authorities whenever required.

5. Treasury, Cash Flow & Financial Controls

- Monitor cash flows across the businesses and ensure effective working capital management.
- Track collections, payments, liabilities and funding requirements.
- Support management in optimising the use of available funds across the businesses within appropriate legal, financial and governance frameworks.
- Strengthen internal financial controls and processes as the businesses evolve.

6. Team Management





- Manage and mentor a team of approximately 3 junior finance professionals.
- Allocate responsibilities, review work quality and ensure timely completion of accounting and reporting activities.
- Build a disciplined and accountable finance function with strong process orientation.
- Guide team members on accounting practices, reconciliations, compliance and reporting requirements.

7. Financial Support to the Promoter Group Approximately 15-20% of the role will involve supporting the Directors with their personal financial and tax-related matters.

- Coordinating personal accounting and documentation requirements.
- Supporting personal tax planning and compliance in coordination with relevant advisors.
- Providing financial inputs relating to investments and personal financial decisions.
- Maintaining appropriate records and ensuring timely completion of personal financial obligations.
- Handling such matters with a high degree of confidentiality, discretion and professionalism.

Ideal candidate profile:

- Relevant experience across Accounts, Finance, MIS, Taxation and financial control.
- Strong hands-on experience in end-to-end accounting and financial reporting.
- Experience managing finance for multiple businesses, business units or entities would be highly relevant.
- Robust understanding of P&L;, balance sheet, cash flow, working capital and profitability analysis.
- Good working knowledge of Income Tax, GST, TDS and related statutory compliances.
- Ability to interpret financial data and translate it into useful business insights for senior management.
- Prior experience managing a small team.
- Strong Excel / ERP / accounting systems proficiency.
- High degree of ownership, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely with business owners / senior management.
- High levels of integrity, confidentiality and discretion, particularly given the exposure to promoter-level financial matters.
