About the Role :

We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Full Stack Developer to join C5i's technology team on a strategic engagement with a leading global pharmaceutical client. The role sits within a central technology capability supporting R&D; and Clinical Operations, building modern, scalable applications in React and Next.js, and using Generative AI / AI-assisted development (vibe coding) to accelerate delivery.

You'll work closely with C5i and client stakeholders to translate business and technical requirements into high-quality, production-ready applications - a role suited to someone who enjoys hands-on building, modern development practices, experimenting with AI-powered coding tools, and delivering in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop and maintain full-stack web applications supporting R&D; and Clinical Operations use cases.
- Build responsive, scalable front-end interfaces using React and Next.js, and backend services and APIs using Next.js and related modern web technologies.
- Design integrations, authentication and application services around REST APIs.
- Work with enterprise data sources such as Databricks and Snowflake via pre-built queries, APIs or data services, applying basic SQL and data/analytics understanding.
- Collaborate with C5i teams and client stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into functional applications.




- Leverage GenAI-assisted development (vibe coding) - including effective prompt engineering, context management and token optimization - to accelerate prototyping and delivery.
- Review, validate, debug and optimize AI-generated code to ensure it meets production-quality engineering standards.
- Participate across the full lifecycle : solution design, development, testing, deployment and production support.
- Troubleshoot application and integration issues across frontend, backend and data-consumption layers.
- Work in an agile environment with frequent/weekly releases, collaborating with globally distributed C5i and client teams, including teams in UK/European time zones.
- Quickly learn new technologies, frameworks and client-specific platforms as the technology capability evolves.

Required Skills & Experience :

1. Full Stack Development - Mandatory :

- 6 - 8 years of hands-on full-stack development experience, with strong expertise in React and Next.js.
- Solid understanding of full-stack architecture - UI, backend services, APIs and application logic - and up-to-date web application design.
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs and working with system integrations.
- Working knowledge of authentication, security, application performance and deployment practices.
- Ability to independently code, debug, test and deploy applications, with a strong grasp of the SDLC and modern engineering practices.

2. GenAI / Vibe Coding - Important :

- Hands-on experience using Generative AI coding assistants / vibe-coding approaches for application development, including prompt engineering, context management and token optimization.
- Ability to give AI coding tools effective context and instructions to generate application components.
- Ability to review, validate, debug and improve AI-generated code - not simply accept it - grounded in strong software engineering fundamentals.




- Curiosity and willingness to experiment with emerging AI-powered development methodologies.

3. Data & Analytics - Basic Requirement :

- Basic SQL proficiency and a working understanding of data and analytics concepts.
- Ability to work with data from platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake via pre-built queries, APIs or data services.
- Deep data engineering experience is not required. Hands-on ADF, PySpark, Spark or Databricks data-engineering work is out of scope for this role.

4. Life Sciences / R&D; - Preferred :

- Experience working with Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences clients is highly preferred.
- Exposure to R&D;, Clinical Operations or Clinical Development environments, and familiarity with R&D; technology/data ecosystems, is an advantage.
- Experience with clinical or R&D; technology platforms more broadly is a plus.

- Comfortable working end-to-end across frontend and backend technologies, and able to take ownership of delivery independently.
- Ability to effectively leverage AI tools while maintaining strong engineering judgment.
- Ability to translate between business requirements and technical implementation.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across global, cross-functional teams.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with short development cycles, frequent releases, and evolving tools and approaches.
- Willingness to overlap with UK/global working hours when required.

Ideal Candidate Profile :

A hands-on Full Stack Developer with strong React and Next.js experience, comfortable using modern AI-assisted development approaches, who can quickly translate business requirements into working, production-ready applications.
