RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership
Lead the end-to-end development of BMS hardware, software, and system
architecture.
Define technical requirements, specifications, and performance targets for
BMS products.
Drive innovation in battery monitoring, diagnostics, safety, and control
systems.
Review and approve system designs, electrical schematics, and software
architectures.
Mentor and guide BMS engineers and cross-functional teams.

BMS Design & Development
Develop battery monitoring and protection strategies for voltage, current,
temperature, insulation, and fault detection.
Design and implement algorithms for:
State of Charge (SOC)
State of Health (SOH)
State of Power (SOP)
Remaining Helpful Life (RUL)
Develop battery balancing strategies (active and passive balancing).
Define battery safety controls, degradation analysis, and thermal management
requirements.
Establish communication architecture using CAN, Modbus, Ethernet, and other
industrial protocols.

System Integration
Integrate BMS with PCS, EMS, SCADA,



and battery pack systems.
Support battery pack design, module development, and containerized BESS
solutions.
Coordinate with battery cell suppliers and system integration teams.
Ensure interoperability between hardware, firmware, and software platforms.

Validation & Testing
Develop validation plans for BMS hardware and software.
Conduct FMEA, DFMEA, HAZOP, and reliability studies.
Lead HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop), SIL (Software-in-the-Loop), environmental,
safety, and abuse testing.
Analyze field performance data and implement corrective actions.

Compliance & Safety
Ensure compliance with applicable standards such as:
IEC 62619
IEC 62933
UL 1973
UL 9540/9540A
IEC 61508
ISO 26262 (where applicable)
Develop battery safety strategies and emergency protection mechanisms.
Support certifications, audits, and regulatory submissions.
