Job Summary

The Database developer should be good in PostgresSQL / GCP CloudSQL as key skill as main backend developer to assist in re-architecting the database we are migrating to GCP. Should be proficient in DWH concepts and have robust command to work in complex areas of backend development.

Key Responsibilities
Experienced in Design, write, and optimize SQL and PL/pgSQL code incl. Queries, Views, Functions, Stored procedures, and triggers in PostgreSQL.
Experienced in Developing and maintaining database objects.
Positive knowledge of data modelling concepts and following normalization best practices.
Experienced in Analysing and improving query performance, indexing strategies, and query refactoring.
Experience in Applying PostgreSQL maintenance concepts to support database health and performance.
Valuable knowledge in Designing and applying effective indexing strategies .
Experience in resolving locking, blocking,



and concurrency issues at database level.
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud SQL for PostgreSQL — connecting, deploying changes, and using cloud-native tooling.
Awareness of cloud database authentication setup.
Proficiency with PostgreSQL tools — PSQL and pgAdmin.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server is a plus but not mandatory.
Collaborate with application and backend developers to translate requirements into effective database code.

Other Requirements
Participate in code reviews for SQL and database changes.
Use version control (Git) and follow CI/CD and change-management practices across system landscape.
Assist with routine database health and monitoring tasks.
Debug and troubleshoot data-related application issues.
