Diagnostic Evaluation
Review and interpret surgical pathology specimens, cytology specimens, and autopsy material.
Diagnose diseases based on histopathological, cytological, and molecular findings.
Correlate laboratory findings with clinical data for accurate reporting.
Laboratory Oversight
Supervise daily operations of histopathology, cytology, immunohistochemistry, and special stains.
Ensure proper specimen handling, processing, and staining.
Monitor and evaluate quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) procedures.
Reporting
Prepare transparent, concise, and accurate pathology reports.
Communicate significant or critical findings directly to treating clinicians.
Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and tumor boards.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure laboratory practices comply with regulatory, ethical, and safety standards (e.g., NABL, CAP, ISO).
Maintain documentation of quality metrics and corrective action plans.
Follow biosafety protocols and maintain a protected working workplace.
