Role & responsibilities
Lead purchase and procurement activities for raw materials, packaging materials, consumables, spares and project requirements for the coconut processing plant.
Identify, evaluate and develop recent vendors to ensure competitive pricing, reliable supply and consistent quality.
Negotiate price, MOQ, payment terms, credit terms and delivery schedules with vendors.
Obtain and compare quotations from multiple vendors and conduct Commercial / Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) before finalizing purchases.
Ensure MOQ planning, timely procurement and on-time delivery without compromising required quality standards.
Manage vendor finalization, purchase orders, commercial documentation and vendor-related issues.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, Engineering, Finance and Projects for material planning and procurement requirements.
Follow up with vendors for quality issues, delivery status, payment matters, credit notes and debit notes.
Verify basic procurement-related documents including Certificate of Analysis (CoA), Food Grade Certificates and other quality/compliance documents.
Support and participate in vendor/site audits and vendor performance evaluation.
Handle procurement requirements for new projects,



plant expansion and industrial development activities.
Maintain proper purchase records, vendor documentation and procurement reports.
Drive cost optimization, supplier competitiveness and continuous improvement in the procurement function.

Preferred candidate profile
815 years of experience in Purchase/Procurement, preferably in Food Processing, FMCG, Dairy, Agro-based or Manufacturing industries.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Commerce, Business Administration or a related discipline.
Strong negotiation, vendor management and commercial decision-making skills.
Experience in vendor development, quotation comparison, MOQ management and cost analysis.
Basic knowledge of CoA, Food Grade Certificates, quality documentation and vendor audits.
Knowledge of project procurement and plant expansion requirements will be an advantage.
Familiarity with ERP/Procurement systems and MS Excel.
Strong documentation and follow-up skills with valuable understanding of credit notes and debit notes.
Energetic, proactive and result-oriented, with the ability to work in a rapid-paced manufacturing environment.
Robust cross-functional coordination and communication skills.
