– PVD Coating Operator

Department: PVD Coating / Production

Location: Chakan, Pune.

Reporting To: PVD Shift In‑Charge / Production Manager

Qualification
Mechanical Diploma or
B.Sc. (Physics / Chemistry)

Experience
1 to 2 years of experience in PVD coating or related surface treatment processes
Experience in cutting tools or gear cutting hobs coating will be preferred

Purpose of the Role To carry out PVD coating operations and related pre‑ and post‑treatment processes to ensure consistent coating quality for gear cutting hobs and cutting tools as per defined standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Operate PVD coating machines for coating of gear cutting hobs and carbide cutting tools.
Perform pre‑coating surface preparation activities such as micro‑blasting and sandblasting.
Carry out protected loading and unloading of tools using appropriate fixtures.
Monitor and control process parameters including vacuum, gas flow, temperature, bias voltage, and cycle time.




Support decoating operations using approved chemical or blasting methods as per SOP.
Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, work instructions, and safety norms.
Record and maintain coating cycle logs, batch details, and process documentation.
Identify and report coating defects or process abnormalities to supervisors.
Assist in routine machine maintenance and ensure workplace cleanliness and 5S compliance.
Follow safety practices including PPE usage, LOTO, and chemical handling procedures.

Skills & Competencies
Basic knowledge of PVD coating processes and cutting tools
Understanding of micro‑blasting, sandblasting, and decoating processes
Valuable hand‑eye coordination and attention to detail
Ability to work in shifts and team‑oriented workplace

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹26,000.00 per month
