Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Team Leader Payroll to manage full-cycle payroll operations for multi-state employees. This role involves overseeing payroll processing, ensuring compliance with payroll laws, managing deductions and perks, and leading a team of payroll professionals. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, leadership experience, and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency.

Roles and Responsibilities
Payroll Processing: Assist in managing full-cycle payroll for multi-state employees, ensuring timely and accurate payroll runs.
Review & Approval: Review and approve payroll batches, adjustments, and off-cycle payments.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to FLSA and federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
Benefits Coordination: Oversee accurate deduction and remittance of 401(k) contributions and employer matches.
Discrepancy Resolution: Coordinate with perks providers and internal teams to resolve payroll-related discrepancies.
Court-Mandated Deductions: Manage wage garnishments, child support orders, and other legal deductions.
Tax Filing: Ensure accurate tax withholdings and timely filing of payroll taxes across jurisdictions.




Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams to ensure data accuracy and process alignment.
Reporting: Prepare and review payroll reports including payroll registers, audit logs, and reconciliation reports.
Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to enhance payroll accuracy and operational efficiency.
Team Leadership: Supervise and support payroll staff, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.

Key Skills
5+ years of payroll experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Solid knowledge of U.S. payroll laws, multi-state payroll, 401(k) administration, garnishments, and tax compliance.
Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll systems.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
