Gurnani Family Office (Marken Capital) | Gurugram (Udyog Vihar, Phase 4)
About the Family Office
Marken Capital is the single-family office of the C.P. Gurnani family and operates as a sub-entity within the family's operating business, Assago Group.
The family office manages capital across public markets, private companies and external managers, alongside the family's wider financial and administrative affairs, including cross-border structures, group companies, real estate, trusts and succession planning.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a senior, highly organised and discreet professional to lead the day-to-day operations and governance of the family office.
This is not a conventional back-office role. The position sits at the intersection of family-office operations, cross-border compliance, banking, tax, portfolio administration, entity governance and family engagement.
The successful candidate will become a key operating partner to the family, ensuring that complex, multi-party processes are anticipated, coordinated and completed accurately and on time.
You will work closely with family members and a network of private banks, custodians, wealth managers, fund managers, trustees, Big Four advisors, lawyers, company secretaries, tax advisors and other professional partners.
The role requires someone who can take ownership without constant supervision, understand when to act independently and when to escalate, and bring structure to complex financial and administrative matters.
Family-office experience is preferred but not essential. Strong candidates from private banking operations, wealth management, asset management, Big Four compliance/tax or similar multi-entity financial operations environments will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Operations & Reporting
- Own the family office's reporting platform as the single source of truth for portfolio and ownership data.
- Lead historical data migration, position tagging and valuation reconciliation across custodians and investment platforms.
- Coordinate monthly statement collection and reconciliation across approximately a dozen institutions, including private banks, wealth platforms, PMS managers and AIFs.
- Prepare consolidated,
cross-asset portfolio reviews and concise strategic summaries for family decision-making.
Banking, Investments and Assets Consolidation
- Manage KYC and re-KYC processes across family members and entities, both in India and offshore.
- Coordinate digital onboarding with investment platforms, funds and financial institutions.
- Map and consolidate assets across multiple banking and wealth-management relationships.
- Track fund drawdowns, capital calls and distributions from receipt of notice through payment and confirmation of credit.
Tax, Trust & Succession
- Coordinate ITR filings, entity financials and tax-related requirements with the family CA.
- Track advance-tax obligations and trust administration/reporting cycles with offshore trustees and administrators.
- Support domestic and international trust and will structures as part of the family's succession planning.
- Build and maintain historical cost-basis and transaction records across two decades of investments and holdings.
Family Engagement
- Serve as a trusted operational point of contact for family members on financial, administrative and investment-related matters.
- Communicate clearly and proactively, particularly where multiple advisors or institutions are involved.
- Maintain at least one in-person meeting or interaction each month with senior family members.
External Stakeholder Management
A significant part of the role will involve coordinating and driving timelines across a broad external network, including:
- Private bankers and custodians
- Wealth managers and investment platforms
- Fund managers and external investment managers
- Big Four advisors
- Family CA and tax advisors
Real Estate and Group Companies
- Oversight of property documentation, mutation processes and developer payment schedules.
- Support on group-company matters including share certificates, board records and transaction documentation.
Cross-Border Transactions & Compliance
- Own end-to-end ODI and OPI reporting, including structuring, documentation, bank coordination, Form FC certification with the family CA and quarterly filings.
- Manage Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS) administration across family members, including utilisation tracking, Form A2, supporting declarations, bank coordination and maintaining a complete audit trail.
- Manage compliance for offshore entities, including annual returns, AGMs, IRAS tax filings, statutory records and coordination with corporate secretaries and tax agents.
- Coordinate with the appointed Big Four advisor on Place of Effective Management (POEM) analysis across the group's cross-border holding structure.
- Support LLP formations, ROC filings and related secretarial requirements for new investment vehicles.
Team Structure
The role will provide functional oversight and coordination across the family-office operations team.
