- Teach Science/Biology to students in the assigned CBSE classes, as per the curriculum and timetable.
- Plan and deliver well-structured lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum and prescribed learning outcomes.
- Develop annual plans, lesson plans, unit plans, and teaching resources.
- Use appropriate teaching methodologies, including experiments, demonstrations, projects, activities, discussions, and technology-enabled learning.
- Encourage scientific thinking, inquiry, observation, analysis, and problem-solving among students.
- Differentiate instruction to address varying learning needs and abilities.
2. Curriculum and Academic Planning
- Ensure timely completion of the prescribed CBSE syllabus.
- Prepare yearly, term-wise, monthly, and weekly academic plans as required by the school.
- Align teaching, assessments, and classroom activities with CBSE guidelines and school academic requirements.
- Collaborate with the Science Department and other relevant academic teams.
- Participate in curriculum planning, departmental meetings, and academic reviews.
3. Assessment and Student Progress
- Prepare worksheets, assignments, class tests, examinations, and other assessment tools.
- Conduct regular formative and summative assessments.
- Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate academic records.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
- Identify students requiring additional academic support and plan appropriate intervention.
- Support high-performing students in achieving their academic potential.
4. Laboratory and Practical Work
- Plan and conduct Biology and Science practical sessions and experiments safely and effectively.
- Ensure proper utilisation of laboratory equipment, specimens, models, and other teaching resources.
- Maintain practical records and support students in completing laboratory work.
- Ensure that laboratory safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Coordinate with the laboratory assistant, where applicable, regarding practical requirements and inventory.
5. Student Welfare and Development
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, safe, and disciplined classroom setting.
- Act as a mentor or class teacher, if assigned.
- Monitor students' academic progress, attendance, behaviour, and overall development.
- Communicate academic concerns to parents and school authorities through prescribed channels.
- Support students' participation in science-related competitions, exhibitions, projects, Olympiads, and other co-curricular activities.
6. Parent and Stakeholder Communication
- Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings and provide appropriate feedback regarding student progress.
- Maintain professional and constructive communication with parents.
- Follow the school's approved communication procedures and protocols.
7. Professional Development
- Participate in professional development programmes, workshops, training sessions, and school-led initiatives.
- Stay updated with developments in the CBSE curriculum, assessment practices, and teaching methodologies.
- Engage in peer learning, classroom observations, and other professional improvement activities.
8. School Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in staff meetings, school events, assemblies, examinations, invigilation, and other assigned duties.
- Participate in departmental and whole-school initiatives.
- Undertake class teacher, substitute teaching, examination, invigilation, and other responsibilities as assigned by the School Management.
