Indo Chats is an India-first messaging and social super-app built to give people a secure, fast and feature-rich way to communicate, share and transact in one unified application. Our tagline says it simply: India Ka App. Duniya Ka App.

The platform brings together end-to-end encrypted messaging (Signal Protocol), a social feed, creator tools, IndoPay, IndoMail, IndoLocker cloud storage, IndoJobs, IndoNews and more — available in 50 languages with 22 Indian languages supported as first-class. We follow a zero-data-sharing philosophy: no third-party trackers, and user data is never sold to advertisers.

We are a founder-funded startup preparing for a phased global launch in 2027, starting with India and expanding to the UAE, Europe and the USA. Our web presence is the first touchpoint for millions of future users, creators, partners and investors — and this role will own it.

Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Website Developer who can design, build and ship fast, secure, multilingual web experiences. You will own www.indochats.com and its supporting web properties — the marketing website, pre-launch waitlist, careers portal, Help Centre, policy pages, and creator and partner landing pages — and contribute to the Indo Chats Web App built on Next.js 14.

This is a high-ownership role in an early team. You will work directly with the founders, product, design and marketing, and your work will be visible from day one.

Key ResponsibilitiesWebsite & Web Platform

- Build and maintain www.indochats.com and all sub-sites using Next.js 14 (App Router), React and TypeScript.
- Develop the pre-launch waitlist flow, including referral codes (last 6 digits of mobile number), ₹1,000 IndoPay cashback eligibility tracking and ₹100 per-referral bonus logic.
- Build and manage the Careers portal (job listings, application forms routed to [email protected]), Help Centre, Safety Centre and legal/policy pages.
- Contribute features and UI components to the Indo Chats Web App alongside the mobile and desktop teams.
- Convert Figma designs into pixel-accurate, responsive, reusable component libraries aligned to Indo Chats brand guidelines (IndoChats Blue #0061FD, Deep Blue #000B98).

Performance, SEO & Multilingual

- Achieve and hold Core Web Vitals in the "Good" band (LCP < 2.5s, INP < 200ms, CLS < 0.1) on mobile networks common in India.
- Implement technical SEO: metadata, structured data (JSON-LD), sitemaps, hreflang, canonical URLs and server-side rendering.
- Build internationalisation (i18n) for 22 Indian languages and additional global languages, including right-to-left support for Arabic and Persian, using Noto Sans font families.
- Optimise images, fonts and bundles; configure CDN caching (AWS CloudFront)



for quick delivery across India, GCC, Europe and the USA.

Security, Privacy & Compliance

- Follow secure coding practices aligned with OWASP Top 10 — CSP headers, input validation, rate limiting, CSRF/XSS protection.
- Ensure no third-party tracking scripts are introduced, in line with our zero-tracker commitment; implement first-party, privacy-respecting analytics only.
- Implement consent and cookie flows compliant with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and DPDP Rules, 2025, plus GDPR for EU visitors.
- Meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards across all public pages.

Engineering Practice

- Deploy and operate web properties on AWS (ap-south-1 Mumbai primary) with CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions.
- Write unit, integration and end-to-end tests (Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright).
- Integrate with backend REST APIs (Node.js/TypeScript, PostgreSQL via Prisma) and a headless CMS for marketing content.
- Participate in code reviews, document your work, and monitor uptime, errors and performance.

RequirementsMust-Have

- 2–5 years of professional experience building production websites or web applications.
- Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, modern JavaScript (ES2022 ) and TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience with React and Next.js (SSR, SSG, ISR, App Router).
- Experience with Tailwind CSS or an equivalent utility-first/design-system approach.
- Solid understanding of responsive, mobile-first design and cross-browser compatibility.
- Working knowledge of technical SEO and Core Web Vitals optimisation.
- Experience consuming REST APIs and handling authentication (JWT/OAuth).
- Proficiency with Git, pull-request workflows and code reviews.
- A live portfolio or GitHub profile demonstrating shipped work.

Good-to-Have

- Experience building multilingual sites (next-intl, i18next) including Indic scripts and RTL layouts.
- Node.js/Express backend experience; familiarity with PostgreSQL and Prisma.
- AWS experience — S3, CloudFront, Amplify, Lambda, Route 53.
- Headless CMS experience (Strapi, Sanity or Payload).
- Framer Motion or GSAP for performant animations.
- Understanding of web security headers, DPDP Act / GDPR consent requirements and WCAG accessibility.
- Prior experience in a startup, consumer internet, fintech or social media product.

Education

B.Tech / B.E. / BCA / MCA / B.Sc. (Computer Science or IT) or equivalent.



Strong portfolios are valued over formal degrees — self-taught developers with proven shipped work are encouraged to apply.

First 90 Days

Days 1–30 : Complete onboarding; audit the current website for performance, SEO, accessibility and security; set up CI/CD, linting and testing standards; ship first production fixes.

Days 31–60 : Launch the redesigned marketing site and pre-launch waitlist with referral logic; release the Careers portal; bring Core Web Vitals into the "Good" band on mobile.

Days 61–90 : Roll out multilingual support for the first 10 Indian languages; launch Help Centre and policy pages; deliver a documented component library for the wider team.
