Role & responsibilities

Review and interpret pathology reports, laboratory results, and supporting clinical documentation.

- Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for pathology and laboratory services.
- Apply coding guidelines, payer-specific requirements, and compliance standards.
- Ensure adherence to AAPC/AHIMA coding standards and regulatory requirements.
- Review NCD/LCD policies and validate medical necessity for billed services.
- Maintain high levels of coding accuracy, productivity, and quality.
- Stay updated on coding revisions, payer policy changes, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with providers, auditors, and internal teams to resolve coding-related queries.

Preferred candidate profile Experience in Surgical Pathology, Cytopathology, Clinical Pathology, and Molecular

Pathology coding.

- Familiarity with NCCI edits, NCD/LCD coverage policies, and payer-specific guidelines.
