Designation: Technician / Automobile Technician

Reports To: Service Advisor / Workshop Floor In-charge / Service Manager

Key Responsibilities

- Vehicle Inspection & Diagnosis
- Inspect vehicles as per job card and manufacturer-recommended procedures.
- Identify mechanical, electrical, electronic and diagnostic issues.
- Use appropriate diagnostic tools/scanners to identify faults.
- Carry out road tests when required to confirm complaints.
- Repair & Maintenance
- Perform periodic maintenance and scheduled services.
- Carry out repairs related to engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, steering, clutch and other vehicle systems.
- Perform electrical and electronic system checks.
- Replace defective parts as per technical recommendations.
- Tata Technical Standards
- Follow Tata Motors technical guidelines, repair procedures and service standards.
- Use recommended tools, equipment and diagnostic systems.
- Follow manufacturer specifications for torque, fluid levels and component replacement.
- Keep updated with new vehicle technologies, including EV and connected-vehicle systems, wherever applicable.
- Quality & Safety
- Ensure repairs are completed correctly the first time.
- Conduct final inspection before vehicle delivery.
- Follow workshop safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper handling of tools and equipment.
- Report any major technical or safety concern to the supervisor immediately.




- Job Card & Documentation
- Clearly record the work performed on the job card.
- Update replacement parts and additional repair requirements.
- Ensure proper documentation of diagnostic findings and repair activities.
- Coordinate with the Service Advisor regarding additional jobs identified during inspection.
- Customer Support
- Understand the customer's vehicle complaint through the Service Advisor.
- Explain technical findings and repair requirements when required.
- Support the Service Advisor in resolving technical queries and repeat complaints.
- Workshop Productivity
- Complete assigned jobs within the prescribed turnaround time.
- Maintain productivity and efficiency targets.
- Minimize rework and repeat repairs.
- Maintain proper utilization of workshop tools and equipment.
- Spare Parts Coordination
- Verify required parts before starting major repairs.
- Inform the Service Advisor/Parts Department about additional parts requirements.
- Ensure removed parts are handled as per dealership policy.
- Team Coordination
- Coordinate with Service Advisors, Parts, Warranty and other technicians.
- Assist junior technicians and trainees when required.
- Participate in technical training and skill-development programs.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
