Technical Lead – Color Components

Job Summary / Purpose -

AkzoNobel’s Technology Integration Team is looking for a Technical Lead – Color Components to lead the technical delivery and lifecycle management of reusable technology components such as .NET libraries, NuGet packages, APIs and services .

The role combines hands-on software engineering leadership, people management, architecture, component lifecycle management and Agile/Scrum delivery . The person will lead and coach Component Engineers while ensuring that components are scalable, reusable, well-documented, secure and production-ready.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and coach a team of Component Engineers and manage their performance and development.
- Own the lifecycle of reusable software components, APIs, services and NuGet packages .
- Define standards for versioning, backward compatibility, release management and documentation .
- Provide technical leadership on architecture, API/service design and integration patterns .
- Drive code quality, automated testing, CI/CD and security practices .
- Work closely with Product Owners to convert requirements into technically executable backlog items.
- Plan capacity, allocate work and manage technical delivery commitments.
- Coordinate release readiness and ensure operational readiness of services.
- Collaborate with R&D; teams to translate scientific requirements into engineering specifications.
- Work with internal/external engineering teams and technology partners.
- Drive technical debt remediation,

- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments .
- Experience managing reusable software components and their lifecycle.
- Experience with versioning, backward compatibility and release management .

Education Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:

- Computer Science
- Software Engineering
- Applied Physics / Mathematics
- Related technical discipline

Ideal Candidate Profile Look for someone who is essentially a Senior .NET Technical Lead / Engineering Lead who has moved beyond pure feature development and has experience owning reusable platforms/components and leading engineers .
