Job Summary

Sri Gowrish CNC Private Limited is looking for an experienced Store Manager to manage the complete stores and warehouse operations, inventory control, material receipt and issue, stock accuracy, material availability, and stores team activities.

The candidate should have strong experience in engineering/manufacturing industries, preferably in CNC, VMC, HMC, VTL, automotive, casting, forging, or precision machining environments.

The Store Manager will be responsible for ensuring proper material availability, accurate inventory, systematic storage, timely material issue, and efficient stores operations to support uninterrupted production.

Key ResponsibilitiesStores Operations

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Stores Department.
- Control all inward and outward material movements.
- Ensure proper receipt, identification, inspection, storage, and issue of materials.
- Manage raw materials, castings, forgings, cutting tools, inserts, fixtures, consumables, spare parts, packing materials, and finished goods.
- Ensure materials are stored systematically with proper bin identification, tagging, and traceability.
- Ensure timely issue of materials to Production and other departments.
- Maintain proper records for material receipts, issues, transfers, returns, and dispatches.

Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate physical and system inventory.
- Establish and monitor minimum, maximum, and reorder stock levels.
- Ensure FIFO/FEFO practices wherever applicable.
- Conduct daily/periodic stock verification and cycle counting.
- Coordinate annual physical stock verification.
- Identify and control slow-moving, non-moving, excess, and obsolete materials.
- Investigate stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Minimize stock shortages, excess inventory, material wastage, and inventory losses.

Production Material Support
- Coordinate closely with CNC, VMC, HMC, and VTL Production teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability.




- Monitor production requirements and arrange materials accordingly.
- Ensure timely availability of:
- Raw materials
- Castings
- Forgings
- Cutting tools and inserts
- Fixtures
- Consumables
- Coolants and lubricants
- Packing materials
- Monitor material consumption and highlight abnormal usage or shortages.

ERP & Documentation
- Ensure accurate and timely updating of stores transactions in the ERP/MRP system.
- Maintain records related to:
- GRN / Material Receipt
- Material Issue
- Stock Transfer
- Material Return
- Purchase Order status
- Stock adjustments
- Generate regular reports on stock position, inventory value, shortages, excess stock, and material movement.
- Ensure proper documentation for ISO, customer, quality, and management audits.

Team Management
- Supervise and manage Store Officers, Store Assistants, and warehouse personnel.
- Allocate daily responsibilities and monitor work completion.
- Ensure discipline and adherence to stores procedures.
- Train team members on material handling, inventory procedures, ERP transactions, and documentation.
- Monitor team productivity and ensure smooth stores operations.

Vendor & Purchase Coordination
- Coordinate with Purchase, SCM, Production Planning, Quality, and suppliers for material availability.
- Follow up on pending and delayed materials.
- Monitor supplier delivery schedules for critical materials.
- Coordinate with Purchase for material shortages and urgent requirements.
- Support vendor performance monitoring and supplier development activities.

Warehouse Management & 5S
- Maintain systematic warehouse layout and proper material arrangement.
- Ensure effective utilization of storage space.
- Implement and maintain 5S standards in the Stores and warehouse.
- Ensure safe material handling and proper storage practices.




- Reduce unnecessary material movement and improve stores efficiency.

Cost & Process Improvement
- Control inventory carrying costs and avoid unnecessary stock accumulation.
- Reduce material losses, damages, and wastage.
- Improve stock accuracy and material traceability.
- Implement standard stores procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and process improvement activities.

Required Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 5–12 years of experience in Stores / Warehouse / Inventory Management.
- Experience in engineering or manufacturing industries is preferred.
- Experience in CNC/VMC/HMC/VTL machining environments will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of engineering materials, castings, forgings, tooling, cutting tools, and consumables.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Tally, Busy, or equivalent.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Candidates with strong Store Manager / Stores Head / Senior Store Executive experience in engineering or manufacturing companies are preferred.
- Should have hands-on experience in managing large inventory and multiple material categories.
- Should be capable of independently handling the Stores Department and leading the Stores team.
- Strong coordination with Production, Purchase, Quality, SCM, and Management is essential.
