We are seeking a SQL Developer / Data Engineer to join our Data & Analytics team and support critical enterprise applications through the design, optimization, and maintenance of the data layer. This role is heavily focused on SQL development, stored procedures, database performance tuning, and application-facing data solutions.

Unlike traditional data engineering roles, this position is not focused on Azure Data Factory pipelines or Medallion Architecture design. Instead, the successful candidate will work closely with application teams, Power Apps developers, and business stakeholders to build performant database solutions that support custom applications operating on large-scale Azure data platforms.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on SQL professional who enjoys solving complex data challenges, designing scalable database objects, and optimizing application performance.

Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain complex SQL solutions supporting enterprise applications. Create, optimize, and support stored procedures, views, functions, and database objects within Azure SQL environments. Build highly performant data access layers for applications interacting with large transactional datasets.

Partner with Power Apps teams to understand application requirements and develop efficient backend database solutions. Create and optimize views and database structures that support application functionality and reporting needs. Analyze query performance and implement tuning strategies to improve scalability and responsiveness.

Work with large datasets stored within Azure-based data platforms and data lakes. Collaborate with architects, analysts, and application development teams to define technical solutions. Support integration of data assets leveraging Azure technologies and Databricks.





Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting efforts, and ongoing database optimization initiatives.

Skills and Requirements

5 years of SQL development experience.

Robust expertise in: Microsoft SQL Server Azure SQL Database Stored Procedures Views Functions Query Optimization Performance Tuning Indexing Strategies Database Design Experience working with large transactional datasets. Strong understanding of application-facing database architectures.

Experience supporting custom business applications through backend database development. Ability to analyze and optimize complex SQL workloads.

Experience working within Azure data environments.

Experience working with Power Apps and understanding how applications interact with backend databases.

Experience with Databricks. Exposure to Azure Data Lake environments. Understanding of API-driven applications and backend data structures.

Experience supporting high-volume enterprise systems.
