Scope of Work for Site Engineer

Project: Supply, transportation, trenching, laying, installation, testing and commissioning of Optical

Fiber Cable (OFC) as communication backbone for Kavach and LTE in Ranital–Duvvada section of East

Coast Railway. DAILY REPORTING TIME 8.AM

Work location: Ranital to Visakhapatnam (VSK), including Bhubaneswar office and stores.

Duties and Responsibilities of Site Engineer

1. Supervise all trenching, excavation, cable laying, HDD boring, OFC blowing, splicing, testing and commissioning activities as per approved drawings, RDSO specifications and Railway instructions.
2. Coordinate with Railway officials, SSE, Dy. CSTE and other departments for smooth execution of work from Ranital to VSK.
3. Maintain daily site progress reports, labour deployment records, machinery deployment records and work measurement sheets.
4. Ensure that all entries in the site register book are made correctly and sign the site register, measurement book and all relevant records as and when required by the Railway authorities.

5. Visit all work sites between Ranital and Visakhapatnam for inspection, supervision and certification of completed work.
6. Produce, submit and follow up the Crossing Permission Register (CRP) and all related documents at the Bhubaneswar (BBS) office.
7. Coordinate with the Bhubaneswar office for obtaining approvals, permissions and submission of reports.
8. Maintain complete records of materials received from Railway stores and contractor stores.
9. Make entries in the Bhubaneswar store register for all materials supplied, including:





o OFC cable drums o HDPE pipes o GI pipes o Joint closures o RFID markers o RCC chambers o Accessories and consumables

10. Issue materials from the Bhubaneswar store to different work locations and maintain proper issue registers, gate passes and acknowledgement receipts.
11. Verify the quantity and condition of materials before accepting delivery from Railway stores.

12. Maintain stock registers, material consumption records and balance stock statements.
13. Ensure safe transportation of materials from Bhubaneswar stores to various sites and maintain transportation records.
14. OFC testing, OTDR testing and maintain test registers before and after cable laying.

15. Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly progress reports to the project manager and

Railway authorities.

16. Attend review meetings at Bhubaneswar office and prepare minutes of meetings whenever required.
17. Perform any other work assigned by the Project Manager, Dy. CSTE/Tele & NW/BBS or

Railway authorities for successful completion of the project.

Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month
