Job Summary
We are looking for a technically skilled and customer-oriented Service Engineer to join our Service & Technical Support team. The candidate will be responsible for installation,
commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of medical and healthcare equipment at customer locations.
The role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, good communication skills, and willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Service & Maintenance
- Install, commission, inspect, and service medical/healthcare equipment at customer locations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic, and equipment related issues.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance as per service schedules.
- Attend breakdown calls and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
- Replace faulty components and perform necessary repairs.
- Conduct equipment testing after installation, servicing, or repair.
- Maintain proper service records, checklists, and technical reports.
Customer Support
- Visit hospitals, clinics, laboratories, healthcare institutions, and other customer sites for technical support.
- Understand customer complaints and provide effective technical solutions.
- Explain equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and basic troubleshooting to customers and users.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with customers.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through timely service.
Installation & Commissioning
- Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
- Ensure equipment is installed according to manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct functional checks and performance testing.
- Provide basic operational training to customers/users wherever required.
Coordination & Documentation
- Coordinate with the Sales, Service, Stores, and Management teams for smooth service operations.
- Maintain records of service visits, spare parts used, repairs, and equipment status.
- Prepare service reports and submit them within the required timelines.
- Maintain proper inventory of tools and service-related spare parts.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers/manufacturers when required.
Travel & Field Support
- Travel to customer locations across Mumbai and other regions as required.
- Attend emergency/breakdown service calls whenever necessary.
- Support product demonstrations, technical evaluations, and pre-sales activities when required.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of electrical/electronic/mechanical troubleshooting.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
- Valuable hands-on repair and maintenance skills.
- Customer-service orientation.
- Valuable verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office/Excel for service documentation.
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma / ITI / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation,
Biomedical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in service engineering, field service, equipment maintenance, installation, commissioning, or technical support.
- Experience in medical equipment, healthcare equipment, laboratory equipment, sterilization equipment, infection-control equipment, or related products will be preferred.
