Synergy Accounting Services LLP provides accounting and finance services to real estate businesses in the US. As we grow, we're looking for an experienced accountant who can take full ownership of client books, lead by example and help build a robust team around them.

This role is for someone who is confident in US accounting, comfortable working directly with clients, and ready to take on more responsibility, including guiding and developing junior accountants.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will independently manage a portfolio of US clients end-to-end, from day-to-day bookkeeping through the month-end close. You will be the primary point of contact for your clients, the reviewer for your team's work, and a mentor to the junior accountants working under your supervision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Take full ownership of the books of accounts for assigned clients, making sure transactions are recorded accurately and on time in [QuickBooks / Xero / Yardi]
- Oversee and review bank and credit card reconciliations, resolving discrepancies independently
- Manage the Accounts Payable cycle vendor bills, payment schedules and vendor queries
- Manage the Accounts Receivable cycle invoicing, cash application and follow-up on overdue balances
- Lead the month-end close for your clients and deliver reconciled, reviewed books within deadlines
- Review the books for accuracy, completeness and US GAAP compliance before they go to the client




- Analyse client accounting issues and recommend practical solutions and process improvements
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients manage communication, expectations and escalations professionally
- Supervise a team of junior accountants – allocate work, review their output, provide feedback and train them on processes and best practices

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter or equivalent qualification in accounting
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, with significant exposure to US accounting
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and accrual-based accounting
- Proven experience handling month-end close independently
- Hands-on experience with [QuickBooks / Xero / Yardi] or similar accounting software
- Experience reviewing others' work or guiding junior team members
- Excellent written and spoken English, with confidence in client-facing communication
- Strong ownership, sound judgement and the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines
- Flexibility during month-end close and client deadlines
