Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Senior Mechanical Engineer to manage and support mechanical engineering, maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and improvement activities.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment, preventive and breakdown maintenance, project execution, and team coordination. The candidate will work closely with production, electrical, maintenance, and other departments to ensure reliable and efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, supervise, and execute mechanical maintenance activities.
- Manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and identify root causes.
- Monitor the performance and condition of machinery and equipment.
- Handle installation, commissioning, modification, and maintenance of mechanical systems.
- Prepare and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and maintenance records.
- Coordinate with production and other departments to minimize equipment downtime.
- Supervise technicians, operators, contractors, and maintenance teams.
- Review mechanical drawings, equipment specifications, layouts, and technical documents.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment servicing, repairs, and projects.
- Evaluate equipment requirements and support procurement of mechanical spares and components.
- Maintain adequate inventory of critical mechanical spare parts.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, productivity, and energy efficiency.




- Conduct root-cause analysis for repeated equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Support new machinery installation, plant expansion, and engineering improvement projects.
- Ensure all mechanical work is performed according to safety procedures and quality standards.
- Prepare maintenance reports, breakdown reports, project reports, and other technical documentation.
- Participate in safety audits, maintenance reviews, and technical inspections.
- Support the Mechanical Manager/Engineering Manager in planning and execution of engineering activities.

Required Skills
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering or maintenance.
- Robust knowledge of mechanical equipment and industrial maintenance.
- Good understanding of pumps, compressors, gearboxes, motors, bearings, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, layouts, and equipment manuals.
- Knowledge of fabrication, welding, alignment, lubrication, and maintenance practices.
- Good knowledge of industrial safety procedures.
- Strong team coordination and leadership skills.




- Good communication, planning, and documentation skills.

Good to Have
- Experience in manufacturing/industrial plants.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC, utility systems, boilers, compressors, or chillers, depending on the plant.
- Experience with condition monitoring and predictive maintenance.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or other engineering drawing software.
- Experience with CMMS/maintenance management software.
- Experience in equipment installation and commissioning.
- Knowledge of TPM, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement practices.
