Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at Hamilton Housewares (Milton). The role involves leading the mechanical design and development of innovative homeware products, from concept through to production, ensuring alignment with brand standards and user needs.

Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and reviewing detailed design specifications, performing mechanical calculations, developing CAD models and engineering drawings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in product development, manufacturing, and quality.

The Senior Mechanical Design

Engineer will analyze design performance, optimize machine and product designs for manufacturability, reliability, and cost, and support prototype builds and testing. The role also includes mentoring junior engineers, contributing to design best practices, and driving continuous improvement in design processes and standards.

We are looking for a self-driven and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Design & Engineering team.

? Experience: 5-7 years in Mechanical/Product Design, with strong hands-on experience in Sheet Metal & Steel Product Engineering .

? Key Responsibilities

- Lead sheet metal/steel product design from concept to production.
- Develop 3D models, assemblies and detailed engineering drawings .
- Drive press-tool/forming feasibility, DFM/DFA, GD&T; and tolerance stack-up .
- Collaborate with Tooling, Manufacturing, Quality and cross-functional teams .
- Support prototyping, testing, validation and production issue resolution .
- Drive cost optimization, design improvements and manufacturing efficiency .
- Mentor junior engineers and support timely project execution.

? Key Expertise Required
- Press-tool/forming-based product engineering – Mandatory
- Strong knowledge of Sheet Metal Design, GD&T;, Tolerance Stack-up & DFM/DFA
- Proficiency in Creo / SolidWorks / AutoCAD / UG NX
- Knowledge of press tools, welding, injection moulding, VMC, die casting, powder coating, etc.
- Experience in team handling and stakeholder management
- Exposure to DFMEA, APQP, PPAP, VA/VE and product validation is an advantage.
