About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Design Engineer – Electrical to take ownership of electrical design solutions across projects.

The role involves developing technical solutions, independently resolving design issues, identifying and validating optimisation opportunities, and ensuring quality, coordination and compliance throughout the design process.

You will also work closely with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders and support the Design Manager in complex technical discussions.

What You’ll Do

Electrical Design & Technical Expertise

- Develop electrical design and engineering solutions based on project requirements.
- Independently identify and resolve technical and design issues.
- Review electrical layouts, calculations, specifications and design documentation.
- Ensure design solutions are technically sound, practical and coordinated.
- Provide technical inputs to the design team on project-specific requirements.
- Support the team in resolving complex electrical design challenges.

Design & Cost Optimisation
- Identify major opportunities for electrical design and system optimisation.
- Develop and validate optimisation proposals based on project requirements.
- Explore alternate equipment, systems and design approaches.
- Evaluate proposed solutions from technical, operational and commercial perspectives.
- Quantify the cost impact and benefits of major optimisation opportunities.
- Support the implementation of value engineering initiatives across projects.

Design Excellence & Innovation
- Challenge conventional electrical design approaches and explore better alternatives.
- Develop alternate design proposals based on project requirements.
- Evaluate different technical solutions for performance, feasibility and cost.




- Contribute to design standardisation, innovation and improved engineering practices.
- Share technical knowledge and practical solutions with the electrical design team.

Quality & Compliance
- Review electrical designs in depth to identify technical, coordination and compliance risks.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards and project requirements.
- Identify design gaps and support timely resolution.
- Coordinate with the Electrical QC team to address quality and compliance issues.
- Ensure design deliverables are accurate, coordinated and aligned with project requirements.
- Support continuous improvement in design quality and reduction of rework.

Client & Stakeholder Interface
- Actively participate in client and consultant discussions related to electrical design.
- Understand client requirements and translate them into practical engineering solutions.
- Present technical options and design recommendations when required.
- Support the Design Manager during complex client meetings and technical discussions.
- Coordinate with internal teams, consultants and other disciplines to resolve design issues.
- Maintain clear communication with project stakeholders throughout the design process.

What We’re Looking For
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in electrical design and engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.




- Strong hands-on experience in electrical design and engineering solutions.
- Experience in commercial interiors, workplace, commercial buildings or Design & Build projects is preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, design calculations and engineering principles.
- Experience in design optimisation and value engineering.
- Ability to develop and validate alternate design solutions.
- Ability to quantify the cost impact of optimisation proposals.
- Strong understanding of design coordination, quality and compliance.
- Experience in client and consultant coordination.
- Strong problem-solving and technical decision-making skills.
- Positive communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of BIM/Revit-based electrical design would be an added advantage.
